Businessmen from the city of Bangalore analyzed investment possibilities in Cuba, during a meeting marking the 50th anniversary of Fidel Castro's first visit to India, diplomatic sources reported.
During the gathering, which was convened by the Indian Economic and Trade Organization (IETO), and which was attended by the Cuban ambassador, Alejandro Simancas, the businessmen learned about the preparations for November’s upcoming Havana International Fair.
Simancas invited companies from the state of Karnataka to join the Indian delegation that will attend the fair in Cuba, considered the largest commercial exchange in Latin America and the Caribbean, and to take advantage of bilateral business opportunities.
The Cuban diplomat highlighted the enormous contribution of Fidel Castro to bilateral relations and to cementing the foundations of friendship, dialogue, respect and cooperation that currently exist between the two countries.
The appointment of businessman Indian Manandi Ramesh as trade commissioner to handle business with Cuba within the organization was announced during the aforementioned meeting.
