The book ¨Revolutionary Directory and the July 26 Movement, Labyrinths of unity in insurgent Cuba¨, by researcher and Doctor of Historical Sciences Frank Josué Solar, was presented today in this capital.

The Ediciones Unión volume was reviewed in the traditional Sábado del Libro space, on Calle de Madera, in the Historic Center of Havana, by Doctor Eduardo Torres Cuevas, professor, historian and Full Member of the Cuban Academy of language.

The text, a work awarded in recent years with the Literature Prize of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (Uneac), delves into the union process between the two main political forces of the Cuban revolutionary process that was forged amid great difficulties, explained Torres Cuevas.

The Cuban academic stressed that this unity, so necessary, was achieved thanks to figures who placed the common good above contradictions or other interests, Uneac reported.

For the National History Prize, the work is of great importance at this time, especially for new generations who can access this complete and deeply documented research.

He highlighted that the book reveals the distinctive characteristics of the revolutionary leaders of that period between 1955 and 1959, as well as the circumstances and context in which the insurrectional struggles developed.

In the opinion of its author, the contribution and usefulness of this work lies in explaining and understanding the lessons bequeathed by men who knew how to rise above differences and focus on a common objective that was and continues to be the Cuban Revolution.
