During an extraordinary session in the municipal assembly of Arroyo Naranjo, in Havana, the delegates of that body of People's Power nominated Lazo along with six other candidates.
According to Cuban electoral law, each municipality selects one deputy for every 30 thousand inhabitants.
This Sunday, in compliance with the foreseen schedule, extraordinary assemblies were held at municipal levels to nominate the candidates for deputies, who will be submitted to popular scrutiny on March 26th.
The president of the National Nominations Commission, Consuelo Baeza, told Cuban television that before this moment, a consultation process was carried out with the 12 thousand district delegates from all over the country to know their opinions on the list of pre-candidates and to make the necessary changes.
Starting tomorrow February 6 and until March 24, the candidates will tour the territories for which they were nominated to dialogue with the population.
