President of Guinea-Bissau to pay official visit to Cuba

Havana, September 7 (RHC)-- The president of Guinea-Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embalo, will pay an official visit to Cuba starting September 8.

The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the distinguished guest will hold official talks with Cuban authorities and other activities during his stay.

Umaro Sissoco Embalo is a political scientist, military, and politician from Guinea-Bissau and president of the country since February 27, 2020.

Cuba and Guinea-Bissau established diplomatic relations in 1973 and maintain close cooperation in health care and human resources training, as a result of which young people from that African country have studied in Cuba.
