Cuba reports 31 new Covid-19 cases

Havana, Jun 3 (Prensa Latina) Cuba reported today 31 new positive cases of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19, 20 medical discharges and no deaths.
The number of patients admitted is 943, 84 are suspected, 35 are under surveillance and 104 are confirmed active, according to the daily report released by the Public Health Ministry (Minsap).
Of the total number of infections at the end of last Thursday, 27 were contacts of confirmed cases and four of them had their source of infection abroad.
So far, the recovery of nationals reached 1,96,885 (99.2 percent of all confirmed cases).
Of those admitted, 102 have stable clinical evolution while two are in critical condition.
The western provinces of Pinar del Rio and Matanzas, as well as the eastern provinces of Granma, Santiago de Cuba and Guantanamo reported no new cases.
Cuba accumulates 1,105,577 diagnosed with the pathogen since March 11, 2020 and the total number of fatalities amounts to 8,529.
Such behavior places the lethality rate in the Caribbean island at 0.77 percent, much lower than the 1.18 in the world and 1.73 in the American continent, according to a comparison of the data provided by the Minsap.
So far, according to ministerial sources, it has been 10 consecutive weeks that the number of confirmed cases has decreased, and for 29 days there have been no deaths from the disease.
