Cuban FM denounces US manipulation of migration

Havana, Mar 30 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, denounced the manipulation by the US government of illegal migration from the island to that country as part of its hostile policy.

Rodríguez Parrilla, in its Twitter account, recalled that “the US government fails to comply with its legal obligation of granting no less than 20,000 visas anually, according to bilateral agreements.

He added that Whashington “imposes the burden of the brutal economic blockade and pressures regional governments in order to demand transit visas to Cuban migrants and travelers”.

Parrilla pointed out that the Cuban government “has clearly warned the US government of its responsability in stimulating iregular Cuban migration”.

He added that this is a consequene of “the US refusal, since 2017, to facilitate the regular, safe and orderly emigration”.
