Caracas, March 6 (RHC)-- Venezuela's Minister of Electric Energy, Néstor Reverol, today denounced a new act of vandalism to the National Electric System (SEN) in the state of Carabobo.
Through a message published in his Twitter account, the Minister informed that organized mafias committed acts of vandalism and theft of profiles in an electric tower.
Reverol added that due to these actions against a transmission tower, it was weakened and fell, and affected the power supply in the 230Kva lines in the town of Mariara, municipality of Diego Ibarra.
Several attacks to the electric system have been denounced by the authorities in the last years, due to political motivations and vandalism by gangs that steal strategic material.
In this regard, recently the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, detailed that more than 12 people were prosecuted for that crime from 2017 to date.
In 2018 and 2019, the attacks against this service caused serious damages that had an impact on the economy and the life of Venezuelans, so the security forces intensified measures to prevent them.
