Cuba reported nearly 2,000 Covid-19 cases in one day

Havana, Jan 7 (Prensa Latina) Cuba on Friday reported 1,946 Covid-19 cases, exceeding 1,000 patients for the second consecutive day in 24 hours, and no deaths.

According to the report from the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), 12,848 patients are hospitalized, including 7,135 suspected cases, 495 under epidemiological surveillance and 5,218 patients infected with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

Of the total number of confirmed cases on Friday, 1,791 were contacts of other patients, 118 have a source of infection abroad and in 37 cases it was not possible to identify the source of infection.

To date, the MINSAP confirmed 5,183 patients in a stable clinical evolution and 35 patients are in intensive care units, including six critical and 29 seriously ill.
