Cuba reports 4272 new COVID-19 cases, 38 deaths

Havana, October 4 (RHC)—Cuban health authorities reported 4272 new COVID-19 infections and 38 deaths associated with the disease over the last 24 hours.
The Caribbean country now accumulates 895,719 patients with Covid-19 since March 2020 and 7,618 people have lost their lives due to complications related to the respiratory disease.
The island’s Chief Epidemiologist, Dr. Francisco Duran, said that there were 23056 active patients hospitalized.
The territories with the highest cases were Pinar del Rio with 1283, Sancti Sipiritus with 493, and Las Tunas with 449.
The provinces which have reduced their infections, like Havana, are gradually opening their beaches and restaurants with safety protocols.
According to health authorities, as of October 2, 9.5 million people had received at least one dose of one of the Cuban vaccines Soberana 02, Soberana Plus, and Abdala. Of these, 6.7 million have received a second dose, and 5,4 are fully vaccinated.
