Havana, May 14 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel today condemned 'the flagrant violations of the human rights of the Palestinian people' and demanded the immediate cessation of Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.

'The Zionist barbarism and the mantle of impunity that the US spreads over those crimes with its support to the Israeli regime insult the world,' the president added through his Twitter account.

Earlier, the island's foreign minister, Bruno Rodriguez, also called for an end to these Israeli attacks.

'The UN Security Council should act and prevent it,' the foreign minister wrote on his Twitter account.

During Thursday night and early this morning Israel launched up to half a hundred bombardments with reactive and field artillery in about 40 minutes.

For their part, Palestinian resistance organizations fired more than 200 missiles overnight from mobile ramps which leave their sites to avoid detection by the enemy army's electronic means.

In its most recent report, the Palestinian health media reported more than 120 dead, including 31 minors, among them a woman and her three children during the hellish night of Thursday, in addition to 830 wounded.
