On this day, the island virtually attended the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, held in Kazakhstan.
There, the Cuban Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero, reiterated the Caribbean nation's interest in sharing with the member states of the EEU its capabilities in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, in terms of medical cooperation, biotechnology and vaccine production.
He also denounced the impact of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on the island for almost six decades, the main obstacle to the development of the country.
This is the first time that Cuba participates as an observer in the EEU, which allows the expansion of the fraternal relations developed by the island with the member states during the last 30 years, Marrero said.
