In his program Human Rights in Revolution, broadcast by Radio Miraflores, the official branded the employment of children and adolescents in the protests as an irresponsible attitude of the leaders of the opposition coalition Democratic Unity Roundtable (MUD).
Devoe accused political leaders of the opposition of putting the lives of children at risk with their calls for rebellion and cited as an example the death of the young Neomar Lander Arias, 17, who died two days ago in a protest, after exploding on him a homemade device.
'It seems they are using children and adolescents to generate conditions that justify a new April 11,' Devoe emphasized, referring to the coup against the deceased President Hugo Chavez, in 2002.
The human rights activist called on Venezuelan society to reflect on this issue and ensure the protection of children and adolescents, who since April have been deprived of their fundamental rights.
At the same time, he urged the media not to distort the events and demanded that the leaders of the opposition right wing not to manipulate the deaths, trying to blame the troops of the different security bodies of the State.
