United Nations, Sep 21 (Prensa Latina) Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro stated on Monday that his country advocates a multipolar world and a renewed United Nations system, in which the peoples are respected.

The president, who participated with a recorded message at the high-level event held on Monday on the UN's 75th anniversary, recalled that the organization emerged in the heat of the victory against fascism and Nazism, 'the most horrifying capitalist and far-right expressions that humanity has ever gone through.'

According to Maduro, 75 years later the nations face the challenge of 'building a multipolar world, where we all exist, we are respected, a world of balance' or allow a hegemonic, unipolar world to prevail.

It is the contradiction of the historic time, the multipolar world against the unipolar world, the world in its diversity, in its peace, in its cooperation, against the world of imperialism, the head of State emphasized.

Venezuela calls, Maduro added, for a multipular world, and for a renewed United Nations system that enforces international law and protects the peoples of the world.

Likewise, and in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, the president affirmed that his country ratifies its support for the World Health Organization (WHO), as an expression of multilateralism in a fundamental area of people's lives.
