Cockburn Town, August 12 (RHC)-- The head of the Henry Reeve medical contingent in the Turks and Caicos Islands, Alfredo Moran, reaffirmed Tuesday the defense of the humanist legacy of Fidel Castro in the support of Cuba to the British overseas territory facing the COVID-19.

Morán highlighted Fidel Castro's mark on Cuban medical specialists, who, inspired by their internationalist vocation, are saving lives in the midst of the global effort to defeat Covid-19.

Dr. Morán said that with its dedication,  the Henry Reeve contingent represents the altruistic vocation of the Cuban people in the Turks and Caicos Islands as in other parts of the world, offering their services in response to the new coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2.

On the eve of celebrating the birth of Fidel Castro, the health brigades expressed their support for the revolution, while expressing their pride in contributing to the history of the internationalism of Cuban medicine.

The Cuban health team arrived on Turks and Caicos Island soil last June 16, with the mission of reinforcing the local struggle against the pandemic and minimizing contagion.
