The doctor said that Cuba is gearing up for the gradual worsening of the situation. The update brings to 119 confirmed cases and three fatalities. At present, 112 patients with SARS-Cov2 are currently hospitalized. Of them, 108 are reported in stable condition. The deceased is a 52-year-old male from central Villa Clara province.

Currently, there are 2,000 patients hospitalized, 730 are suspected of carrying the virus, and 35, 245  people remain under surveillance by the primary care system.

The health official said that after the local transmission event reported in Matanzas province on Friday, Cuba enters now under Phase 2 prescribed by the National Plan to face COVID-19,  with the presence of limited autochthonous spread.

The next and last stage, Phase-3, would be declared when the peak of the circulation of the virus occurs on the Caribbean island.
