Havana, Jul 14 (Prensa Latina) Cuba reported on Tuesday 2,275 recovered patients from Covid-19 of 2,432 cases infected with the disease so far, for a 93.5% recovery rate, Dr. Francisco Duran, national director of Epidemiology at the Ministry of Health Public (MINSAP), informed.

During his usual morning press briefing on Tuesday to update the Covid-19 statistics, the doctor reported that seven patients had been discharged from hospital over the last 24 hours.

Of the patients diagnosed since March 11, 68 active cases remain in hospital, 67 of them are clinically stable and one is seriously ill, but stable.

No deaths were reported in a day, so death toll remains at 87, for 3.57% lethality rate.

Some 3,329 PCR tests in real time were performed nationwide on Monday to detect the presence of the virus, totaling 211,427 samples studied so far.

The MINSAP expert said that there are 140 people under clinical-epidemiological surveillance in hospitals as suspected cases, and 254 others are monitored at home by the Primary Health Care System.

All Cuban provinces, except Havana, and the special municipality of Isle of Youth are in the second stage of recovery, after the encouraging results they have reached in more than three months fighting this pandemic.

Havana continues in the first stage of recovery, as it still reports positive cases with an incidence of 3.89% per 100,000 inhabitants in the past 15 days.

Cuba currently shows a low virus transmission and death toll, but health authorities reiterate that the risk is still extremely high.
