2,254 Cuban patients recovered from Covid-19, for 93.2% recovery rate

Cuba reports today 2,254 people have recovered from Covid-19 out of the 2,420 positive cases reported so far, for 93.2% recovery rate; there are 77 hospitalized active patients, 75 of whom are doing fine.

At the usual morning briefing, Dr. Francisco Duran, National Director of Epidemiology of the Public Health Ministry, reported that five patients were discharged in the last 24 hours, which means that more than 93 percent of the total number of positive cases has recovered

After almost two consecutive weeks without death due to the disease, a 68-year-old patient died on Friday. He had been hospitalized since June 30 and was contact of a confirmed case.

Despite efforts by the team of doctors at the hospital, the patient died of complications associated with the disease and other pathologies of his clinical manifestations, the specialist explained.

Yesterday, 3,339 diagnostic tests were studied throughout the country to detect the presence of SARS-CoV-2 virus, bringing the total number of samples taken so far to 202,014.

There are 191 people isolated under clinical-epidemiological surveillance, and another 233 being checked at home from Primary Health Care.

All Cuban provinces (except Havana) and the special municipality of Isle of Youth are in the second stage of recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic, following positive results in more than three months of confronting this epidemiological situation.

The Cuban capital continues to be in phase one of decontamination, as it has the highest rate of confirmed cases, a total of 82 in the last 15 days.
