Havana, Jul 20.- The Cuban National Ballet will make three performances next weekend of the classic piece Don Quixote, dedicated to the 90th birthday of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, the company reported today. The Federico Garcia Lorca hall at the Alicia Alonso Gran Teatro in Havana will host the performances of the leading dancers of the company, Anette Delgado, Viengsay Valdes, Sadaise Arencibia and Dani Hernández.

Choreographed by prima ballerina assoluta Alicia Alonso on the original work by French Marius Petipa, the piece includes this season the performance of new talents of the company, Raul Abreu and Patricio Reve.

Premiered on December 14, 1869 at the Bolshoi Imperial Theater in Moscow, that classic ballet is a free version of the novel Don Quixote, by Spanish writer, Miguel de Cervantes.

The dance company founded in 1948 by Fernando, Alberto and Alicia Alonso, joins to the cultural initiatives conducted in this island to celebrate Fidel Castro's 90th birthday, on August 13. (Prensa Latina)
