Berlin, Jan 28 (Prensa Latina) The Association of Cuban Residents in Germany paid tribute to the National Hero of Cuba, Jose Marti, on Tuesday as part of the commemorative acts for the 167th anniversary of his birth.

During the annual meeting of the organization The Star of Cuba, its members remembered the legacy of the Apostle of Independence and ratified their commitment to Marti's principles.

The re-elected president of the Association, Jose Conde, highlighted the validity of Marti's thought and reiterated the organization's willingness to promote civic and patriotic values.

Likewise, the participants in the meeting denounced the intensification of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba, and described it as cruel and unjust due to the serious effects it causes to Cuba and its citizens abroad.

Meanwhile, the Cuban ambassador in Germany, Ramon Ripoll, stressed his country's willingness to continue to make progress in strengthening ties with emigration.

In this regard, he recalled that the Fourth Conference on the subject will be held in Havana from 8 to 10 April and urged the preservation of values such as unity and commitment.
