Brazilian Leader Thanks Solidarity and Love of #Cuba with #Lula

The president of the Party Dos Trabalhadores (PT), of Brazil, Gleisi Hoffmann, thanked the people of Cuba today for their solidarity and love with former president Luis Inácio Lula Da Silva.

Cuba was always one of the first countries to be by his side, Hoffmann told Prensa Latina about receiving at the Anti-Imperialist Solidarity Meeting, for Democracy and against Neoliberalism, the signatures collected in Cuba in demand for the immediate freedom of Lula.

She described the solidarity day in Cuba as very significant, which took place in just 14 days, to support the international campaign for the annulment of the trials against the Brazilian leader.

"It’s millions of Cubans who accompany Lula."

She also recognized the effort made, not just in the Caribbean nation, but in the rest of Latin America and the Caribbean, to stop the injustice against the Brazilian ex-president.

Likewise, she said that, in that regard, for the Brazilian delegation at the anti-imperialist meeting, this exchange and relationship with the people of Cuba is necessary.

About Lula’s situation she said that the judicial process against him must be annulled because of the corruptions it has and because of the political manipulation to which it has been subjected by judges allied to the current president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro.

The president of the PT considered that Lula's freedom would be a very important event for the Brazilian people, because it would mean the return of his rights.

In this regard, she considered very important the trial scheduled for November 7th at the Supreme Federal Court (SFC) of Brazil after a second instance conviction.

"Lula has what it takes to lead the country, to talk to the people, to give hope and he gives a vision of the country into the future," she said.

As for the Bolsonaroˊs time in office, she said that it is a government of destruction of the country based on neoliberalism.

"He is selling Brazil, severing people’s and he has authoritarianism as an expression policy," she said.

She recalled that Bolsonaro's son openly expressed in the social networks his desire for reinstatement in the country of methods of military dictatorship that restricts all freedoms.

In addition, she said, Bolsonaro and his family are involved in several scandals related to the diversion of resources and groups hired to kill.

There is also reference that a member of the presidential family is linked to the murder of leader Mariella Franco, she added.
