Cuban Parliament Condemns Unjust Imprisonment of Lula
The International Relations Commission of the National Assembly of People''s Power of Cuba on Friday condemned the political, judicial and media persecution against former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and rejected his unjust imprisonment.
Lula is the victim of a revenge of the oligarchy and imperialism, trying to eliminate his political and moral leadership, capable to lead a true process of change favorable to the excluded sectors of Brazilian society,' said the declaration approved on Friday.
According to the letter, Brazilian leader imprisonment seeks to discredit and dismantle the social and economic advances achieved under his leadership, and criminalize the forces that support him.
The International Relations Commission of the National Assembly of People's Power appeals to the honest parliamentarians of the American continent and the world to demand Lula's release and express their full solidarity with the just claims of the Brazilian people, according to the document.
