Russian VP receives his Cuban counterpart in Moscow

Vice-President of the Government of the Russian Federation, Arkadi Dvorkovich received in Moscow the Cuban VP and Minister of Economy Ricardo Cabrisas who is in Moscow on an official visit.

In a cordial atmosphere, characteristic of the excellent state of relations between Cuba and Russia, the two parties exchanged views on the progress of the major projects in the field of energy and welcomed the progress of the projects.

Likewise, new areas of cooperation were identified in the context of the effective participation of the Russian Federation in Cuba's Economic and Social Development Plan.

Cabrisas also held a meeting with Russian Federation Emergency Situations Minister Vladimir Puchkov, who informed the Cuban leader of the Russian Government's decision to send 1,200 tons of humanitarian aid to help mitigate the damage caused by Hurricane Irma in Cuba.

He also met with the Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology, Serguei Donskoi, who pointed out the next steps for collaboration in the fight against drought that has been affecting the central and eastern part of Cuba in recent years. Cabrisas informed in detail the Russian Minister about the approval in our National Assembly of the Popular Power of the Life Task.

The Cuban Minister also met with the presidents of the Russian companies SINARA and NOVATEK.
Cabrisas visited Russia from September 16 through the 26 to participate in the work and the Plenary Session of the Intergovernmental Commission for economic-commercial and scientific-technical collaboration.
