The Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) reported Tuesday on Facebook regarding the conclusions of a visit by the Secretariat and the Auxiliary Structure of the Central Committee to the Central Bank of Cuba and several commercial entities to monitor the implementation of economic and social transformations.
The meeting was attended by Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee and President of the Republic, alongside Political Bureau members Manuel Marrero Cruz, Prime Minister, and Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee, among other senior officials.
Participants confirmed that these visits took place at entities facing the highest complexity in the delivery of public services.
Debates focused on strategies to improve service quality and the overall operation of the country’s Banking and Financial System, illustrating how economic and social transformations contribute to modernizing banking infrastructure and restoring confidence in the sector.
According to official reports, these policies align with the Constitution of the Republic and the governing documents of the Party.
Exchanges with executives, party members, and workers reinforced the principle that major decisions emerge from collective intelligence and widespread participation.
The occasion served to emphasize the leadership role of party members in driving transformations, while calling for firm action against corruption and tax evasion, as well as the protection of public rights.
Additionally, the meeting highlighted the need to establish effective mechanisms guaranteeing the right to online and digital payments.
Key challenges identified for the sector include improving service quality, increasing the number of energy-self-sufficient facilities, addressing technological obsolescence, and streamlining procedures and interbank operations.
It was emphasized that the banking system must support all economic actors in national development, with expectations focusing on simplifying credit procedures, enhancing service quality, maintaining rigorous controls against fraud, ensuring financial management efficiency, transparency, legality, ongoing training, and digital transformation.
According to the PCC, these meetings provide an accurate diagnosis of the sector's current reality, strengthen accountability, and foster collective oversight.
